At age 11, Ramiro was doing agriculture jobs when he accidentally activated a landmine. This explosive device caused the total loss of his vision and severe injuries on his body, particularly on his left hand, in which he lost his fingers.
Since 2012, Ramiro has been receiving comprehensive rehabilitation assistance from United for Colombia. He received a facial prosthesis and prosthetic eye.
His recovery process has been complex due to the severity of his wounds. However, Ramiro keeps studying his secondary education and aspires to be a professional musician.
Thanks to our donor and their constant support, children like Ramiro keep faith to gain the well-being and the recovery they need to continue a joyful and ambitious life.
Thanks for keeping their hopes alive!
