2021 was the most difficult years for us to support our clients both online and in person since Covid 19 outbreak was at it peak in Thailand this year. Our team of counselor and social workers still stay committed to support children who are sexually abused, trafficked and children who are victim of domestic violence. Our team has seen the rise in domestic violence case (DV case)  and therefore we added this service during the lockdown to be able to support victim of DV. There were at least 2 boys who were beaten to death by their parents in 2021 which was on the national news.  In 2021 our team provide total of 587 hours of couselling and social service support through both online and offline channel. During the lock down, we got many request through our @hugcare (Line Official) and @hugprojectth Twitter account and hotline.

Our goal is to empower clients who feel powerless and need a safe space to talk with. Clients can reach out to us online during work hours and up until 9pm in the evening. One of our client 'Hope' (not her real name), was a victim of sex trafficking and her case was already completed in court process, however, one night she reached out to one of our staff and shared with us that she is thinking about committing suicide and feel depressed. Because of the lock down we were not able to travel to her since she is 8 hours away from us. Our director contacted a social worker and psychiatist contact in one of the goverment hospital. The doctor called her the next day through telemedical methods and precribe her medication this is all completed within 48 hours. With your support, we were able to cover her medical fee and postal fee. There are many children who are effected similar to Hope and we are committed to be here for them and we would like all of our donor who support us and be here for us so that we can support many children during difficult time.

Finally we would like to wish all of your a happy new year and hope your enjoy our card which recap our work in 2021. Happy New Year!
