Dear Supporter,
We’re writing to share a story of hope made possible by your compassion and continued support.
Just a few days ago, Baby Rawan—only 24 days old—was brought to one of SEMA’s hospitals in northern Syria in a critical condition. She was suffering from a severe blood infection (sepsis) and had recently undergone surgery for a lumbosacral meningocele, a serious condition affecting the spinal cord. Her tiny body was fighting a tough battle, but she wasn't alone—your generosity was with her.
Thanks to your donations, our medical team was able to act quickly. Rawan received intensive care, including the appropriate antibiotics and close monitoring. Slowly but surely, her condition began to improve. She is now stable, breathing and circulating well, and showing great signs of recovery.
She is being prepared for discharge, with regular follow-ups scheduled to monitor her neurological development. Rawan’s life was saved—and it’s all because of people like you who choose to care.
From all of us at SEMA, and on behalf of Rawan’s family, thank you. Your support gives newborns like her not just a chance to survive—but a chance to live.
With deep gratitude,
