Our dear friends, we are glad to share with you the news from our project for Ukrainian Internally displaced families.
During last two months we kept integration workshops, meetings, regular art-therapy events for our beneficiaries. We also visited twice the hospital for those physically suffered at war, making concerts, presenting food sets for 15 patients and listening to their stories.
To say goodbye to summer together with our kids beneficiaries, we held art workshop “Drawing a summer” on August 23. The workshop was held by an Associate Professor of the department of drawing, painting and sculpture of the Publishing and Printing Institution of National Technical University of Ukraine. 12 IDP children were drawing summer and shared their best memories about that all kids' favourite season.
On September 9 we organized a beautiful project in ancient home icon museum in Radomyshl town. The project went in cooperation with NGO “People help people” and Women’s Federation of Japan, who sent group of 9 youth volunteers to Ukraine for 10-days program. 34 IDP children who lost their parents at war in the Eastern Ukraine, together with relatives took part in that cultural rehabilitation event. Children and adults could enjoy entertainment program and took part in various workshops and interactive games.
Marking the International Day of Peace on September 21, Women’s Federation became co-organizers of solemn City-level ceremony in Kiev City hall for people who retained their courage and active civil position even losing their relatives in the Eastern Ukraine war.
Among that people there was a wonderful lady Lyudmila, with whom we got acquainted few months ago. Lyudmila’s daughter with husband died from accident soon after the war started, they left two small daughters who are now nive and five years old. Soon after that, in July 2015, Lyudmila’s husband had died in Lugansk region, during the antiterrorist operation. Lyudmila became guardian for her small granddaughters, and since then she has to take lots of efforts to raise the kids alone. Lyudmila became one of our beloved beneficiaries who has been constantly receiving help from us and our patners.
And all this help is possible thanks to you, our dear donors and friends! Thank you very much and have a warm autumn!
