Our dear friends, despite the coronavirus outbreak, we try as much as we can to keep our work with the Ukrainian IDPs.
Many of our beneficiaries faced serious difficulties during the quarantine. Therefore we refocused our activity mainly on financial support, at the same time keeping our integration work online.
Following the safety rules, Women’s Federation for World Peace in Ukraine organized distributing food packages and hot lunches for those in need. With our support, 300 families with many children, including IDP families, could undergo a free medical examination.
Together with the Family Center “Native Nyvky” our organization gave new life to the project “Boutique of good things”, implemented by our partners. We assisted to locate boutique in a certain place, collected good second-hand clothes, and other useful things, as well as made bridges between donors and beneficiaries. The boutique is accepting clothes, shoes, appliances, furniture, products from everyone, who wants to help IDPs and other people in need.
As a part of our online integration work, on June 13, together with the regional Red Cross Society, we held a psychological workshop for IPD families. The workshop included different sessions, together with discussions and individual counseling with professional psychologists. We also conducted a survey and formed the lists for material assistance.
Celebrating World Refugee Day on June 20, we organized an online conference to hear the voices of our IDP beneficiaries and those who are not indifferent to their problems. Our long-time friends shared how they keep their lives and their activities under the current difficulties. One of them, active mother and volunteer Kateryna shared about her move from Donetsk with her two children and her husband. She is currently on maternity leave with her third child, but this does not prevent her from actively volunteering. Our dear partner since 2015, Humanitarian HQ of the NGO "All-Ukrainian Organization for Internally Displaced People", gave a report on their activity. Women tried to encourage each other and expressed their wish to keep cooperating and building a community where everyone can join and share useful information.
Thank you, our dearest friends, for making all this work possible!
