Project Report | Oct 25, 2021
School construction (26)

By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader

The Covid-19 pandemic is regressing in our country. There is less contamination. Nevertheless, our country has few vaccinated (less than 5%). To launch a strong vaccination campaign, the President of the Republic was vaccinated for the second time in public. The statistics remain 54,009 cases identified for 52,956 cured and 1053 deaths.

It is against this backdrop of optimistic health that the 2021-2022 school year was opened in the country on October 4, 2021.
Likewise our School, Glenn Paige Nonkilling School has reopened its doors with 92 students for three classes. Classes are progressing well.

Reassuring news: The project 'Making Profitable the boat of Glenn Paige School' (20174) has raised 100% of its funding goal. Our boat will be able to equip itself with a good engine and be profitable. This will ensure the proper functioning of the School.
The Director of the School said: Ni habari nzuri kwa kuendelesha masomo na kumaliza ujenzi wa masomo ’. This sentence in Kiswahili means in English ‘This is very good news for the functioning of our School and for completing the construction’.

As for the actual construction, classrooms are separated by walls and we are in the process of storing construction materials (bricks, cement, iron, etc.) in Uvira, to transport them to Kazimia.

We thank our various friends around the world for their blessed support.

Let us reach together this noble goal: provide these vulnerable children with a viable modern school.

All the best.
