Project Report | Dec 1, 2020
School construction 23

By Mabwe Lucien | Project Leader

We are still living in difficult times with Covid-19. The health situation in relation to this pandemic has stabilized in the Country. We have few cases of contamination and fewer deaths. The statistics remain stable with a total of 11,052 cases, 10,357 recovered and for 303 deaths. Despite this health improvement, trafficking with the outside world is still prohibited; the borders with our direct neighbors namely Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda remain closed. Internal traffic and circulation are very limited. Of course, various manifestations and cults are allowed but with special measures. Public schools were officially reopened on October 12 (closed since March 2020), however few schools have responded to this call. Sanitary conditions are not yet in place for the reopening of Glenn Paige Nonkilling Scool. We must respect all barrier measures including hand washing with soaps, distancing and wearing masks for the effective security of our children. We are studying this situation in relation to our financial means. We plan to resume construction work shortly; we have bricks, planks and iron except that we have to import the cement from Tanzania as soon as the borders open. To Our Donors, do not forget us, may God protect and bless you.
