Dear Donors,
Before displacement, many of the families we hope to reach were not waiting for someone to feed them.
They were farmers, traders, livestock owners, labourers, mothers and fathers providing for their households. They planted crops, sold goods, raised animals and cooked meals from what they earned. Conflict changed that life for many families across northeast Nigeria.
When people flee violence, they do not always have the opportunity to take what they spent years building. A farmer may leave behind an entire harvest. A family may lose its livestock. A small trader may abandon a shop and everything inside it. Parents can arrive in a displacement camp with children to feed but no land to cultivate, no work and little or no money.
That loss helps explain why hunger remains so severe.
Millions of people across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe continue to face severe food insecurity. For families already displaced from their homes, rising food needs and limited humanitarian assistance can make each day uncertain.
Share Your Zakat to Feed Muslim Families in Crisis exists for families living through this hardship.
Zakat can help provide food parcels and nutritious meals for households struggling to eat. It can provide clean water and basic healthcare for families whose resources have been exhausted. Our priority is to reach people facing the greatest hardship, including children, women, older people and people living with disabilities.
For these families, receiving help does not erase everything they have lost. But having food today can give a parent one immediate worry they do not have to carry tonight.
And sometimes relief begins there.
To everyone who has given their Zakat and supported this work, thank you. We are grateful that you chose to remember people you may never meet, living through circumstances you may never see firsthand.
Please continue telling others about this project. Your family, friends, colleagues or members of your Muslim community may also be looking for a meaningful way to share their Zakat with families experiencing hunger and displacement.
May your Zakat reach those who need it and bring food, care and comfort to families living through difficult days.
