SHE: Sisters Healthy & Empowered

As we evolve and adapt to our new normal, Sisterhood Agenda is announcing a new set of online workshops and girl programs, including A Journey Toward Womanhood and SHE:  Sisters, Healthy & Empowered.  We are launching recruitment for new participants this week and these programs are scheduled to begin in February 2021.

Sisterhood Agenda expanded our trauma-informed holistic health agenda with a new, interactive learning platform.  While this is experimental, we are optimistic about its capacity to engage program participants safely and confidentially.  Also, combined with live video, we will be assessing the effectiveness of the new format. Implementation and participant feedback will inform us, moving forward.

We will also offer all SHE participants our sisterhood support services, particularly Sisterhood Agenda's counseling and mentoring Big Sister sessions.   Of course, these sessions are also offered via video.

Honestly, this transition has been taking a little longer than expected. We are all required to adapt and some of us move along this journey more quickly than others.  Above all, we remain committed and grateful for the support of our constituents, including important donors like you!

At Sisterhood Agenda, we know that health is holistic. This means that our physical and mental selves are connected to every part of our existence. An impact on our mental health and emotional well-being, for example, impacts our physical health.

Similarly, health and finances are interconnected. How? As the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated, health and finance gender gaps are killing women around the globe.

Good health, is therefore, extremely relevant for both prevention and intervention.

In sisterhood, we educate, support, and empower. Expanding our impact, we are utilizing our social media platforms to inform, engage, motivate, and inspire women to pay attention to their health, happiness, and well-being during these turbulent times.

Sisterhood Agenda is sharing our book content as a teaching tool with our SHE: Sisters: Healthy & Empowered groups. Integrating this publication, SHE participants will learn more about:

-What relaxation is and how to use time wisely
-How to create and maintain an aura of peace to reduce anxiety and worry
-The best environments that promote self-awareness and mindfulness
-Why relaxation and letting go is necessary to optimize health and emotional well-being
-The gender and cultural implications of self-care and rest
-How to identify what’s keeping you from being able to relax and let go
-How to use the resources around you (nature, herbs, exercise, sisterhood support) to relax and let go
