Anniversary Milestones
The Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center has successfully celebrated its 7th anniversary last March 2023. The month-long celebration was held with a series of events and activities highlighting the stories of impact of Lasallian social entrepreneurship with LSEED Center.
The new partnership with the British Council Philippines was publicly announced through a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding last March 1, 2023. Both parties have agreed to explore cooperation in areas of capacity building of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) localization. This was followed by the launch of the anniversary webisode through LSEED Talks as well as the release of the new subpage and the primer of the Center. Last March 24, 2023, LSEED Center was also formalized as a member of the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia and was elected as a member of its board of trustees and regional council. A social enterprise marketplace was also launched at the Bloemen Hall of De La Salle University, showcasing Lasallian social enterprises. To cap off the celebration, LSEED's anniversary dinner and partners' gathering was held last March 28, 2023.
The Center has also formally announced the creation of a social enterprise marketplace (microsite) via Lazada. The said platform will showcase Lasallian social enterprises with its products and services. The effort aims to expand the market base of SE as part of the LSEED's commitment to support the growth of the SE sector in the country.

LSEED Center expands its curricular programs

The Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center has expanded its curricular efforts by offering an introductory session on social entrepreneurship and design thinking to sophomore students through the Student Affair Services (SAS) 2000 program. A total of 5 sections with 210 students successfully participated in the program.
SAS2000 gives the students opportunities to nurture their interests and passion while developing their interpersonal skills in order to relate effectively with others. It focuses on enhancing their personal traits, knowledge and skills and reflecting on how they can further use these skills. For LSEED's part, its module provides the students to understand Lasallian social entrepreneurship and the process of design thinking. It also involves a workshop which highlights the use and benefits of design thinking in creating social entrepreneurship.
Aside from SAS 2000, LSEED also offers curricular courses such as the NSTP-LSEED, Senior High School, basic certificate course, and core/elective courses in partnership with NSTP and Formation Office, the Integrated School, School of Lifelong Learning, and select colleges of DLSU.

Successful implementation of new programs in social enterprise development

The Lasallian Social Entrerprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center has successfully implemented the Angat Buhay Young Social Entrepreneurs Program (ABY SEP) and the KAagapay sa Yugto-yugto at Abot-kayang Negosyo Project (KAYA). These efforts provided marginalized communities with formation, mentorship and resources in establishing community-based social enterprises. A total of 37 social enterprises has been estalbished with 176 trained social entrepreneurs.
Moreover, the Center is also successful with the Batch 1 of the LSEED Certificate Program or the Basic Certificate Course in Social Entrepreneurship. Its curricular initiatives, SAS 2000 and NSTP-LSEED managed to introduce the concept of social entrepreneurship to 838 freshmen and 103 sophomore students, respectively for AY 2021-2022. On the other hand, the Service Learning effort was able to implement 25 projects in 25 communities, involving a total of 196 students. Said projects were successful in documenting social enterprise plans, developing interventions in marketing, logistics management, financial management, as well as in providing capacity building sessions.
For AY 2022-2023, LSEED has expanded its academic programs. It has also formally launched a new initiative for student organization called Social Enterprise Development for Student Organizations (SEDSO) in partnership with the student affairs office and the student council. This effort is meant to recalibrate the social engagement efforts of student organizations, with alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through social entrepreneurship. LSEED Online Mentoring (LOM) version 2.0 was also pilot tested. The new mentoring strategy of the LSEED Center through LOM captures the growth and progress of social enterprises using a centralized database, designed primarily for the LOM sessions.
