Steps to Recovery: Supporting Syrian Amputees

At the NSPPL Center in Syria, we welcomed Saher, who lost both of his legs due to the devastating earthquake. His journey to recovery has been challenging, but with his strong determination and the support of our specialized team, he has begun to regain his independence.

After a thorough assessment, we fitted him with two lower prosthetic limbs and provided him with physical therapy and psychological support to help him adapt to his new reality. Step by step, Saher is regaining his confidence and returning to daily life without relying on others.

At NSPPL, the Syrian National Project for Prosthetics, we are committed to providing ongoing support to individuals who receive prosthetic limbs, ensuring they can lead active and independent lives. This is especially crucial for children, who require new prosthetics every six months to accommodate their growth.

Mohammad, one of our young beneficiaries, has received three prosthetic limbs over the past two years, each carefully crafted and fitted to match his development. Today, he moves with confidence, walking steadily without assistance—an achievement made possible through continuous care and support.

Such life-changing interventions are only possible thanks to those who believe in giving others a second chance at mobility. Together, we can keep making strides toward a future where no child has to face such challenges alone.
