Dear Supporter,
Khaled, a young man in his thirties from the city of Al-Bab, lives a modest life with his wife and their one child. Tragically, when he was on his way to school, his hometown was struck by an air raid that inflicted severe injuries, resulting in the amputation of his right leg above the knee. This sudden loss forced Khaled to discontinue his studies and also cost him his job, leaving his family in an extremely difficult situation.
Despite these hardships, Khaled remains resolute in his ambition to return to school and eventually pursue a university degree in journalism. He hopes to become a voice for those who have suffered under bombardment and various forms of oppression. Yet the physical challenges of living with an amputation, coupled with the limited resources available to his family, have made daily life an uphill battle.
A Life-Changing Solution
Through the support of NSPPL, Khaled was recently fitted with a custom prosthetic limb. This essential aid has restored much of his mobility and independence, allowing him to walk again without relying on others. Freed from the barriers imposed by his injury, Khaled can now focus on both studying journalism and finding suitable employment to support his family.
Reflecting on his journey, Khaled expressed his profound happiness:
“I feel absolute joy now that I can walk with a prosthetic limb. My main goal and passion is to achieve my dream of studying journalism.”
