Hernias are common in dogs, sometimes puppies are born(congenital) with it, or sometimes it develops due to traumas like hit by a car or bitten by other dogs. Hiatal, Umbilical, Diaphragmatic, Inguinal, and Perineal are the 5 main types of hernias that affect canines. Hernias usually appear as a soft mass that is shaped like a bubble. Here are a few common hernia symptoms in dogs: loss of appetite, Vomiting, Drooling, Fever, Shortness of breath, numbness in the legs, Coughing, Lethargy, etc. Depending on the type, hernia symptoms can be mild to life-threatening if the condition goes untreated, but the good news is hernias are treatable with veterinary care and management.
‘Coco’ was brought to Jivdaya by his local owner when he noticed a tumor developed on his hip, and he started having a problem walking. When we asked him, he informed that Coco was hit by a running motorbike a few months back. Our team of vets kept Coco under observation for 24 hours, and after a clinical examination, they decided to perform the surgery. After the successful surgery, he is now under our team’s supervision, where he is healing faster with post-surgery medication care and love. We are hoping to hand him over to his local caretaker soon after his complete recovery. Coco is an amazing example of a loving friend who can win over any heart easily.
Thank you all for saving many lives like adorable ‘Coco’ with love, prayer, and your kind contribution.
People like you are constantly making a change and strengthening us to fight against all odds. We are proud to have you in our family. Thank you for being kind to all these speechless lives.
