As winter sets in, thousands of Syrian families living in camps and conflict-affected areas face renewed suffering. Freezing temperatures, heavy rain, and fragile shelters have turned winter into a direct threat to life—especially for children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses. In worn-out tents that offer little protection from wind and cold, access to heating materials has become a matter of survival, not comfort.
In response to these harsh conditions, Saed Relief and Development implemented a winter heating assistance project targeting the most vulnerable families in northern Syria. The project included the distribution of winter blankets, sleeping mattresses, and essential heating materials, helping families endure long, cold nights with a minimum level of safety and dignity. For many households, these items meant the difference between unbearable nights of suffering and moments of warmth and reassurance.
Children who once shivered throughout the night were finally able to sleep more comfortably, while mothers found relief knowing their children were better protected from the cold. Elderly individuals, particularly those with weak immunity, benefited greatly from this assistance, which reduced their exposure to winter-related illnesses in areas where healthcare access remains limited.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all donors whose generosity made this humanitarian intervention possible. Your support did not only provide physical warmth—it delivered a powerful message of compassion and solidarity, reminding Syrian families that they have not been forgotten. As winter continues and needs remain urgent, we kindly encourage you to continue your support. Please also share this report with your family and friends, helping us expand the reach of warmth and protection to more families in need.
