Amid the severe weather storm impacting large areas of Syria, hundreds of displaced families found themselves facing freezing temperatures with little protection. Fragile tents and unfinished shelters were unable to withstand the harsh cold and strong winds, turning winter into a direct threat to life—especially for children and the elderly.
The recent storm caused several tents to collapse and allowed rain and snow to seep into temporary shelters. Long, freezing nights became a daily struggle, as many families lacked even the most basic heating resources, increasing the risk of cold-related illnesses.
In response to this urgent humanitarian need, Saed Relief and Development implemented a coal and blanket distribution project to support the most vulnerable households during these exceptional weather conditions. A total of 200 families benefited from this distribution, receiving coal to help generate heat and blankets to provide warmth throughout the cold nights.
This project offered real protection from the freezing cold, eased daily suffering, and restored a sense of safety and dignity for struggling families. The assistance provided was more than material aid—it was a lifeline that helped families endure some of the harshest winter conditions they have faced.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all donors and supporters whose generosity made this response possible. Your continued support and sharing of this report with family and friends help expand the humanitarian response and ensure that more vulnerable families across Syria receive the warmth and protection they desperately need.
