Save Abandoned Cows from painful death in Gujarat.

Cows are the primary source of milk that we consume daily. Many people in India earn their living by selling cow’s milk. But when these cows stop producing or get injured or diseased, their heartless owners abandoned them quickly. Our city roads are filled with speeding vehicles. With the rapid urbanization, we are losing the grasslands every day and natural food sources. All vacant lands are getting converted to high-rises, business centres, shopping malls, etc. No doubt, humans are progressing, but we are forgetting these free-roaming poor innocent animals who already lost their natural habitat due to our greed. These starving free-roaming cattle often come on the road or gather near the city garbage dump, searching for food and becoming victims of human cruelty or road accidents.

In February, we have received ‘Lakshmi’ in our hospital. Her owner abandoned her when she met with an accident and injured her left eye severely. The owner did not even care to take her to a vet for her treatment and left her on the road. Due to the negligence, Lakshmi developed a nasty maggot wound and eventually lost her left eye. When Hitesh (name changed) and his team rescued and brought her to our facility, our team was shocked to see her wound and her strength to fight with the pain. We immediately started her treatment by flushing the injury, followed by medication.

With proper treatment, medication, nutrition, love, and care, Lakshmi started showing improvement in no time. Finally, the day had come when we shifted Lakshmi to her forever home, where she is recovering from her physical scars and her mental scar.

Jivdaya Charitable Trust requests you all pet owners never abandon your pets, because, for them we are their only family. We never leave our family members when they get sick or injured; instead, we take care of them till they recover from the pain. We need to understand that our pets are also a part of our family, and we need to take care of them.

Greetings from Jivdaya Charitable Trust

Winter is a deadly season for stray cattle. Many diseases are like Pneumonia, Hypo thermia, gastrointestinal diseases, Diphtheria, coccidiosis occurs in winter, there are various reasons behind the outbreak, like unhygienic condition in and around they live, no shelter during night, low immunity power, lack of nutritional food etc.  Apart from the above-mentioned diseases we have received a lot of road accident cases with fractures and dislocations. Few of these injuries are old and few of them are new. In our trauma care centre, we provide timely treatment to these diseased and distresses cattle and provide them with regular medical treatment, healthy food, shelter, and care. Last month we have received 09 stray cows in our facility and out of these 07 cases are successfully treated and released in their natural habitat. Our expert veterinarians and assistants worked very hard with regular follow-up, pain management, diet and physiotherapy for their speedy recovery.
