Danger-to-Safety Relocation for DV Survivors

In 2022 we continued to receive hundreds of requests for help from American mothers and their children experiencing abuse abroad. Our crisis email inbox is filled with heart breaking story after heart breaking story.

These are victims who, after enduring abuse, have been stripped of their self-worth, dignity, and hope; but still are asked to take on an impossible obstacle course to escape abuse all while their lives and their children's lives are at risk.

Because of your donations, we continue to provide assistance to the most desperate and vulnerable victims around the world.

Victims like Mendy. Who is now back home in the USA with her soon to be born child because she was able to receive information, emotional support, safety planning and resources from our crisis email advocate.

Mendy was terrified her child would be born into an abusive home. Because of you, that did not happen!

All victims of domestic violence face tremendous obstacles when escaping abuse, especially those with children. Add having to escape a foreign country to the process and successfully fleeing abuse and getting home to the USA can seem impossible.

That is how Morgan felt when she first started emailing our crisis email. She had given up and felt she would end up in a body bag overseas. However, with our advocate's help and guidance, Morgan was able to safety plan, implement a plan of escape and get the documents in order she would need once she fled home with her son Alix.

After several months, 2 taxis, 1 bus, and 2 airline flights later, Morgan and Alix back to the safety of her parent's home in the USA.
