Raneem..On the Path Toward the "White Coat"

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Since she was a little girl, a single dream has never left Raneem's imagination: to become a doctor who heals the wounds of the weary. Today, as an orphaned young woman living in the heart of difficult displacement conditions, that dream has not changed; instead, it has become the daily fuel driving her to challenge a reality that tries, with all its harshness, to deter her from her path.

Salma [Raneem] does not study in ideal conditions; her desk is a small table in a tent, her lighting relies on simple means, and the peace of her home is interrupted by the sounds of the crowded camp. Despite this, she carries her science books as if she were carrying a weapon to fight the battle for survival. For Raneem, orphanhood and displacement are not obstacles, but rather a greater motivation to become the physician who will one day contribute to healing the pains of her community.

How does "Masarat" contribute to achieving Raneem's dream? At Masarat, we realize that her bright mind is a treasure that must not be lost to poverty or orphanhood. Therefore, we accompany her on her journey through:

  • Specialized Academic Education: Providing the necessary scientific lessons (in science and medical tracks) with high quality to help her excel in her exams and achieve her university dream.

  • Psychological Support and Motivation: Enhancing Salma's [Raneem's] self-confidence and reminding her that a young orphaned woman is capable of being a leader in her medical field.

  • Providing a Flexible Educational Environment: Allowing Salma [Raneem] to access knowledge at any time, to suit the pressures of her life in the camp.

Our Partners at GlobalGiving Your support for Raneem is, in truth, an investment in a "life" she will save tomorrow. You are paving the way for an orphaned girl to break the cycle of poverty and become "Dr. Raneem," a success story you will one day be proud to have been a part of.
