"To Educate Girls is to Reduce Poverty"- Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations
The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty was celebrated on Oct 17th and education is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against poverty. For girls in particular, education can be life-changing.
Educated women are more likely to earn sustainable incomes, invest in their children’s education, and advocate for improved social and health outcomes within their communities. This creates a ripple effect that helps entire societies thrive.
We want to take a moment to thank you—our generous supporters. Your commitment to educating girls in Sierra Leone plays a direct role not only in changing individual lives but also in creating a foundation for economic growth, gender equality, and long-term social progress.
Whether you’ve made a one-time gift or are a monthly supporter, your contributions are investing in a generation of educated, empowered girls who will be key to eradicating poverty in Sierra Leone and beyond.
With deep gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
