To: GlobalGiving Program From: Wings Melaka Date: 18/05/2023 Attached here with our 1st Quarter 2023 report for your attention & perusal (private and confidential) Thank you and Regards Wings Melaka. We began the year 2023 with the lofty goal of reaching out to help more autistic children and their caring families and we see an increased demand in our Melaka community. However, our community lack suitable resources for these subject group in our said Community. Since last year, all the activities at Wings Melaka Centre have remained sustainable and every of our programs had been carried out smoothly. Last year we had recruited 4 new EIP (Early Intervention Program) students and 3 existing EIP students who were given the opportunities to pursue academic learning & other daily skills sets and currently some of the EIP students have improved and moved up to SAP (School Aged Program). Currently the demand for registering of new EIP students in Wings Melaka are encouraging and we have a waiting list of students in our record. As of the current reporting period, we had 28 EIP, 13 SAP and 4 YAP (Young Adult Program) Students and supported by 9 staff (breakdown 8 teachers & 2 Management staff). Based on our current staffing, our Wings Melaka are still facing human resource issue and it is our challenge to get more manpower into our Centre. As for this year, we plan to recruit additional teachers and we really hope we can find suitable teachers who want to work in our Centre. Our last quarter of year 2023, Wings Melaka managed to achieve the following: - 1. We had recently split some of the EIP students who are facing difficulties in their learning into classroom modules that is introduction of studying in a stimulated rooms for those students with sensory impairments. And so far, those students had responded to our said program; 2. As for SAP students, we decided to modify our SAP classrooms into two (2) modules that is Study Area and the other Activity Area. And we noticed the students had improved on their confidence, comprehension, social, emotional and also prevent their frustration & anxiety when they sat in their said classrooms; 3. In respect of our Young Adult Program (YAP) students, we got them to learn their newly acquired skills that is Baking of Cakes, cup-cakes and cookies. And the recent Chinese New Year the teachers & students did baking of cookies, bottled the said cookies and sold them. We also got the students to help us with the teachers when they go out to shop for groceries at a local supermarket which were to be used for cooking lunch in the Centre. Going forward, Wings Melaka hope to be able to recruit suitable teachers so that we can accept additional new autistic students and also share the work load of the existing teachers. In addition, the new teachers will be in our succession planning
