Medical Support for 30,000 People in Chernihiv, Ukrain

By Sojung Kang | Coordinator

City Hospital no.2
City Hospital no.2

Hello, this is So-jung Kang from Peace Winds Korea.

I wanted to share a brief update on the impactful medical support from your generous contributions.

Amidst the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, your support has played a crucial role in delivering essential medical aid to those in need. Collaborating with local organizations, Peace Winds has successfully distributed vital medicines, including antibiotics and cardiovascular treatments, to 24 hospitals in 11 oblasts, addressing shortages exacerbated by the Russian invasion.

One region significantly impacted is Chernihiv, where four hospitals, including City Hospital No.2 and No.3, Chernihiv Oblast Children’s Hospital, and Central District Hospital, have received critical assistance. The medical staff expressed gratitude for the timely delivery of medicines, especially thrombolytic drugs for stroke treatment, which proved essential in restoring healthcare services in the aftermath of intense attacks.

Chernihiv Oblast Children’s Hospital, despite facing a decrease in child patients during evacuations, highlighted the importance of sustained support in providing necessary treatment and nutrition for children. The Central District Hospital, located near the front line of last year's fighting, stressed the crucial role of thrombolytic drugs for patients suffering from strokes.

As we continue our relief efforts, we urgently appeal for your ongoing commitment to ensure the availability of essential medicines and medical services for the people of Ukraine. Your generosity has made a tangible impact, and with your continued support, we can provide vital assistance to those facing the ongoing challenges in the region.

Thank you for standing with us in this critical mission.
