Receiving English Diplomas
Receiving English Diplomas

We at the Gibson Soto Foundation are delighted and privileged to communicate with you and share our students' progress in their academic, professional, and personal growth.  Thanks to your support, we can continue offering life-changing opportunities to young women from rural areas through our comprehensive education programs.

English Classes
We are pleased to share that at the beginning of the year, our students successfully completed the first level of Business English, receiving a diploma from Language Fitness School and their teacher, Jim.  This achievement represents a significant milestone in their professional development and ability to compete in a globalized market.  Our students will be starting the Intermediate level classes next week.  We organized a delightful meal with the teachers and students to celebrate this accomplishment, further strengthening our educational community.

Animal Welfare Workshop
As part of our Human Development Program and aligned with our mission to promote a culture of peace and non-violence, the students participated in an animal welfare workshop this month.  This workshop gave them a deeper understanding of the importance of animal welfare and strengthened their connection with nature and the environment around them.

Peace Culture Workshop
During March and April, our students had the opportunity to participate in a series of Peace Culture workshops:

  • They reflected on and practiced different ways of thinking, acting, and speaking to promote peace.
  • They explored strategies to transform their environment by resolving conflicts positively.
  • They have empowered themselves to be leaders of this transformation.
  • Reinforced the importance of considering others and always seeking common benefit in their actions.

This workshop provided valuable tools to build healthy relationships and foster a culture of peace in our community.

Communication workshop.  They participated in a Communication workshop as part of the Peace Culture series.  Our students acquired vital skills to promote peaceful and respectful coexistence within their environment.  The Culture of Peace consists of values, attitudes, and behaviors that encourage harmonious conflict resolution, mutual respect, and social inclusion.

Nonviolent communication is a crucial tool that enables individuals to express their needs and emotions effectively without resorting to violence or aggression.  This type of communication is based on empathy, active listening, and a collaborative approach to resolving conflicts.
On the other hand, assertive communication empowers individuals to express their opinions and feelings clearly, directly, and respectfully without becoming passive or aggressive.  It enables them to stand up for their rights and set boundaries in a firm but respectful way.
These skills are essential for building healthy relationships and promoting peace and collaboration in the community.  We are proud to witness the commitment and enthusiasm of our students in learning and applying these skills in their daily lives.  We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making this workshop possible and our courageous students for their dedication and active participation.  Together, we are building a future filled with understanding, empathy, and respect.

Workshops for creating resumes

Our students are moving forward on their path to professional success!
This month, our students participated in four workshops on writing a professional resume and a life profile.  Every student was asked to write their curriculum vitae and life profile during each workshop.  They also received guidance on how to take professional-looking photographs that could be included in their resumes.
After the writing exercises, they received feedback and professional review to refine every detail and reach a final version.  We believe that having these refined writing and presentation skills is essential for standing out in the world of work.
A well-crafted resume and a professional photograph are essential to showcase a person's experience and skills concisely.  It also exhibits professionalism and dedication towards job opportunities.  We are thrilled to see our students sharpening their skills, which will unlock doors to their professional future.

We invite you to continue participating in this transformative journey at the Gibson Soto Foundation.  Let us work together to build a brighter future.
