Keep her in school

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have also managed to purchase school shoes for the children of Kirwa village under our care. These shoes will be delivered soon and will benefit 80 children in total.

For many of these children, a proper pair of school shoes is not just a matter of comfort—it means the difference between attending class regularly or missing school due to foot injuries or lack of acceptable footwear. Without shoes, children often walk long, dusty, or muddy distances on bare feet, risking cuts, infections, and fatigue.

Now, because of your kindness, they can walk to school with dignity, arrive ready to learn, and play safely during breaks. This small but vital support removes a major barrier to education and restores hope for these young learners.

Each pair of shoes represents a promise: that someone out there cares about their future. Today, we took an important step toward improving safety at our school by purchasing essential tools and antibacterial detergent. These supplies are part of a proactive effort to help prevent the spread of Ebola, a severe viral illness that spreads through direct contact with bodily fluids. While Ebola is not an airborne virus, it can survive on contaminated surfaces, making hygiene and proper cleaning critical in a school environment where hundreds of students and staff interact daily.

The antibacterial detergent will be used to regularly disinfect shared surfaces—desks, door handles, restroom fixtures, and cafeteria tables—reducing the risk of surface transmission. Additionally, the tools we acquired include sprayers, gloves, and protective covers to ensure that cleaning is done safely and effectively. By integrating these measures into our daily routine, we aim to build a culture of hygiene and awareness. Proper handwashing, surface cleaning, and quick isolation of anyone showing symptoms are key components of our strategy. With these new resources, we are not only responding to a potential threat but also fostering long-term habits that protect the entire school community from infectious diseases.
