How Solar Energy Helps Kids at the Dacha

Dear friends,

As you may know, Ukraine has been facing regular power outages due to ongoing Russian attacks on the country's generating facilities. These outages, often lasting 6 hours or more, have forced people to adapt their daily lives to these disruptions or look for private solutions.

Family House Dacha was no exception. Parents couldn’t cook food for their children when needed, or prepare to visit the hospital for check-ups, chemotherapy, or other procedures. They had to carefully plan around these power outages, which added stress and complexity to an already challenging situation of critical disease.

We are thrilled to share wonderful news with you: Dacha now has a consistent and reliable source of electricity! In June, we installed solar panels on the roof of the house. These panels generate enough energy to provide continuous heating, hot water, lighting, functional power outlets, internet connectivity, a washing machine, two refrigerators, and even a stove.

In situations where air raid alarms are a regular event, for families not needing to go to the bomb shelter in complete darkness is an important improvement. They no longer need to worry about losing power at critical moments, which contributes to their peace of mind and a sense of security.

Thank you for supporting Family House Dacha! Your contributions make it possible to create a safe and comfortable environment for children when they need it most.
