9^th Batch Enters JAAGO

First day at School – an amazing experience for a child, an unforgettable & lifelong memory for the parents; Excitement, fear, anxiety - all sing and dance in a happy tune on this day in all our schools. 

This very day is the first step towards painting a bright future of our children. Hundreds of little faces with little shaky footsteps and eyes full of big, colorful dreams - We, at JAAGO Foundation just welcomed yet another batch of its reception class with warmth and pride. Each year, our teachers and the JAAGO family celebrate this joyous day by sharing this excitement with the new children and their parents. 

For us, this is another proud day, a token of love – which could not be achieved without the belief and trust of our supporters. Please welcome and pray for these budding dreamers and make their journey a smoother one by supporting our cause, however you can. Every single contribution counts.

Warmth of Happiness

This winter just came out to be priceless and filled with innocent smiles of our students. With the token of love, “Meril” took the moment to wrap our children in warmth of sweaters where Marketing Experts and Specialists of popular giant Square Toiletries Ltd. & our beloved Founder of JAAGO Foundation were present at this event; their act of caring created endless smiles on all of our students in 13 schools, across the country. 

New Year! New Books!

This New Year, our beloved students finally got their hands on new colorful books. Their joy knew no bounds when they were handed over with academic books and handbooks for their new classes. Let these new textbooks bring bundles of happiness to these little dreamers! Let’s inspire these little spirits on this special day of new text book distribution. We hope these books will bring them unlimited happiness and guide them towards their journey.

International Mother Language Day

Like every year in remembrance of the ones who sacrificed their lives for the native language Bangla, the teachers and students from all of our schools observed the International Mother Language day on 21^st February, 2016. Students, Teachers tagged along with the Volunteers from Volunteers of Bangladesh (The Youth Wing of JAAGO Foundation) constructed and decorated replications of Shaheed Minar (Martyr Monument) beautifully with pure artisan spirit across the JAAGO schools all over Bangladesh. Students were told sacred history of this great language movement where the lion-hearted students of Dhaka University Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Borkot and many other brave souls sacrificed their lives during a protest at the University of Dhaka on February 21, 1952. Furthermore, students laid down flowers to the replications of Martyr`s Monument (Shaheed Minar) and took part in various cultural activities.

Carnivals and Experiments

Universal Children’s Day 2015:

This year on the Universal Children’s Day 2015, thousands of volunteers of Volunteer for Bangladesh, the youth wing of JAAGO Foundation participated in our Universal Children’s Day campaign to advocate children’s education rights. Supporting UN’s main Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), GOAL4: ‘Quality Education 4 All’, the day long campaign was carried out. On this day our volunteers stepped into the shoes of street children while they can enjoy a day full of fun. The volunteers had spread the message of quality education for a better life among the Bangladeshi masses. The street children were taken to carnivals and various amusement parks to live a day from the childhood they never had. Volunteers took the street kids to the carnival so that they could enjoy to the fullest.

The carnivals were placed in 32 districts across Bangladesh, where volunteers brought the street kids from all the traffic signal points to the carnival. Then the kids had breakfast and wore new clothes of yellow. After that, all the kids went through a thorough medical checkup. Later the children had fun where they got to see the bioscope, hop on to Nagordola, ride on the Merry Go Round and many other fun-filled rides. With more to their entertainment, they watched amusing puppet shows, educational cartoons and theatrical performances. Furthermore, the kids got a chance to draw their colorful dreams on t-shirts. On top of that, kids participated in various sports and fashion shows. Afterwards, children had their lunch and continued their fun again till the afternoon. Overall, it was a day fully dedicated to all the children around us. Heartiest thanks to all our supporters who made the day successful.

British High Commissioner’s Visit to the JAAGO Foundation:

On the 12^th November 2015, we had the pleasant visit of His Excellency Mr. Robert W Gibson, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh at our JAAGO Foundation. The High Commissioner was received by our little angels upon his arrival. He took a detailed tour of our Rayer Bazar branch of the JAAGO Foundation School met our students. Moreover, H.E Mr. Robert W. Gibson engaged in a discussion on ‘Online School’ program with the JAAGO students and also interacted with the students of JAAGO Foundation, Rajshahi Online School. Officials of Grameenphone were also present on this occasion. H.E Mr. Gibson’s sponsored children at JAAGO, Tasmia Akter Sumaiya and Siam Hossain Sayem shared their little little experience with him. Last but not least, his presence among our beloved volunteers of Volunteer for Bangladesh inspired them to bring more positive changes to the nation. Altogether, it was simply a day to remember.

JAAGO Annual Science Fair 2015:

JAAGO Foundation has successfully organized its first Annual Science Fair, which is arranged in association with Krisenergy on the 10th of September at JAAGO Foundation,

Rayerbazar School, Dhaka. 40 students and 10 teachers from our school participated in a fun filled prior 2 day science workshop which was conducted by Mr. Rezaul Karim from Govt. Teachers Training College, Rangpur. Later 10 groups of 4 students and one teacher in each exhibited their handmade projects and best projects were awarded with books,crests and certificates. A science quiz competition was also held among the school students. Proven to be one of the biggest academic events of the year, JAAGO Annual Science Fair was a showcase of student experiments and a culmination of the knowledge each student has gained. Students thoughtfully considered a project of interest, and embarked on a journey to test their theories using the scientific method. Our honorable guests were Mr. Edwin Bowles, General Manger, Krisenergy, Founder of JAAGO Foundation Korvi Rakshand.

Class Party:

This year in September, class Parties were arranged for all of our school kids. A day where all the kids had a blast and enjoyed to the max. Class parties of JAAGO Foundation Rayerbazar & Banani Schools were supported by Platinum Hotels by Sheltech and JAAGO Foundation Chittagong School along with the 10 JAAGO Online Schools were supported by Chaap Shamlao. Heartiest thanks to Platinum Hotels by Sheltech and Chaap Shamlao for their relentless support for these class parties. The amazingness of the children’s coming together and having pure fun, warmed our hearts to the fullest.
