During the April holiday, the Sports for Change Students had an opportunity to learn and have revision with the form four and form 3 students. we had precious time to interact academically and the weak students in various subjects could be assisted by their fellow students. The 3-week program took place in kimotho primary where we were permitted to use one of the classes. we took advantage of the floods because our area was not flooded and decided to have tuition. We hope that the learning was impactful and that the students will improve their grades in the midterm and end-term exams. We appreciate Madam Shiku Waithaka and the Sports for Change organization for sponsoring the program and all the required necessities. we also thank the Kimotho Primary School Board and administration for allowing us to access the class and assuring us security during the learning program. The teachers were coming to check our progress still in the tuition period. We would like to have the same programs during the holidays because it is also nurturing the university students in the organization who are taking Bachelor of Education as they came to experience teaching during the tution program.
I have joined the students before during holiday mentorship programs , but this time was different. I had a teacher-student interaction with them . Iam pursuing a degree in bachelor of education and during our long holiday , I got an opportunity to give tuition to my peers in sports for change . I had a great teaching experience as I interacted with them. I was able to know every student's weak and strong areas. I was able to deal with diverse learners since our students have different abilities. Am so grateful to Sports for Change for the opportunity to exercise my career.
I look forward to teach them again during August holiday .
Big thank you to all those who continuously support this mission of changing lives . I joined the program 6 years ago , I was the smallest in the family . I got supported throughout my secondary school education . I worked hard passed well and joined university . The charity still supports me, Iam now giving back to the community.
