Heal One World: Inner-City Preventative Healthcare

What a productive year 2011 was here at Heal One World.  To start the year off we got our own studio space to hold our classes and screenings in the diverse Mid-City, Pico Union area.  We had over 200 classes with over 1200 participants!  Joining Global Giving in April was a triumph for health and well being here in the US.  Our program is being replicated in New York, San Francisco and even Orange County, California! 

This fall we had several beach and community clean ups that featured free yoga.

Camp A.W.A.R.E. was amazing and we are plotting and planning for this years summer camp. 

Our Spanish classes are continuing and the class base is growing.  We can only be as successful as the commitment of our participants to their well-being.

The Awareness Festival looks to be taking off in huge ways for our 3rd annual fund- and awareness raiser!

Our successful partnership with the Venice Family Clinic and Venice Skills Center among others is exciting and helps us fill in the need there for nutrition, yoga and non-invasive options for chronic pain.

Going forward we want to thank so sincerely, all those contributors that have made Heal One World flourish and grow.

We are very open to collaborations and have school presentations and new classes and option coming up this Spring.

• Video of Make A Difference Day

         Here at Heal One World we are so excited for the Fall!  Our 2nd Fit Right In Program started last week after a successful Open House with a bit of everything offered at Heal One World.  We are excited for the participants to gain healthy insight and habits over the next 12 weeks.  The funds raised from Global Giving go directly towards the classroom/studio space and supplies needed.

        We have had some great events buidling up to our three fundraising, awareness raising and health rasing events!  We showed Yoga Woman, a film that teaches you how yoga is changing lives, and that it can be practiced by anyone.  We also are having a large beach clean up with Heal the Bay, featuring free Yoga and Tai Chi classes for free on the beach.  We also have a drum circle and after party/screening and dance. This is on October 22nd.

        November 12th we are holding a Pico Blvd. clean up and health walk!  Walk 5 or 10 miles along Pico Blvd and discover local shops and restuarants while cleaning up the neighborhood.  Lastly the recyclethon is a great event taking place on November 20th that features beach cleaning, biking, yoga, hiking and more!

         In most exciting news, we also have partnered with the Venice Free Clinic to begin offering free classes for the clinics patients in Venice and our studio.  What an amazing clinic, that serves thousands of people in need each week.

        We look foward to the next few months and reporting about our events and the Fit Right in prticipants, as well as our ongoing daily free comunity classes open to all.
