The Kyerekum Well Is Completed.
By Matthew Aidoo | Projects Coordinator
The people of Kyerekum community has been eager and anxious to see that the work we started as far back November 2014 is completed for them to have access to clean water. For this reason, the community supported the activities of the Well construction by contributing enormously by providing some of the needed materials and labour from the onset to see that the work is completed. As at the end of the last quarter, work on the Well was completed including concrete lining and the apron on the Well. We were left with the water pump, which was needed to complete the Well and other ones that are ready and ongoing.
One (1) hand pump was purchased in early June 2016 with proceed from funds raised in the local churches In April and May 2016 specifically to complete the Well. Presently, the entire population of 250 people of Kyerekum community is now accessing water from the new Well. Some Wells are still outstunding and hand pumps are needed to complete them.
We are therefore appealing for our cherish donors to help us to complete the outstanding wells by donating to our project.

Work for the completion of additional Wells in other communities in our project area has been ongoing since January this year. The 250 population of Kyerekum, which is one of the communities are eager to see the work on the Well in their community completed in the shortest possible time. The concrete lining and apron on the Kyerekum Well has been completed and we need a hand pump to fix for the people to have access to the water facility. Ebo Appiah (not real name) and family who played a great role in building the Well are very anxious to see water flow from the Well. All the children in the community are very happy to see the ongoing work on the Well and are looking forward to the day water would flow for them to try their hands in drawing the water.
We are still calling and appealing to all our cherish donors to help us by donating to our project to enable us to purchase hand pumps to fix and complete the Wells for the target beneficiaries to access the clean water.
