The Holidays Are Over, But Hunger's In Full Force

It's been a few months since we last we last gave you an update, and we have definitely been busy! I'm pleased to announce that we have been growing quickly. The winter months brought with it some major new partners to our hunger relief efforts as Atlas Van Lines and Brookfield Relocation Services joined our Move For Hunger family. Our network now includes nearly 500 moving companies and over 1,500 real estate professionals across 47 states. We've even began to expand into Canada!

As of today, I'm happy to share that Move For Hunger has delivered over 126,000 lbs of food in the first few months of 2013. This is enough to provide almost 97,000 meals to individuals in need. While we are proud of this number, we are just scratching the surface. The need is growing faster than our nation's food banks can respond. Every day, millions of Americans are struggling to put food on the table. We, as a nation, need to be doing more feed our neighbors in need. In a country with so much, it's amazing that we are able to provide so little!

I want to thank you again for your continued support of our cause and for your generous donations over the years. Please remember that hunger isn't just a problem during the holidays, but rather a year-round issue that needs year-round solutions. Move For Hunger has the ability to educate hundreds of thousands of Americans every day about local hunger issues, while providing important support to our nation's food banks.

As spring approaches, I urge you to continue your generous support to help Move For Hunger reach new heights! There are so many ways to get involved this year:

Spread The Word: Let your friends know the great things we are doing and how to get involved
Start A Drive: Organize a food drive with us in your community. We'll help you with fliers, boxes, and even pick up all your donations to deliver to your local food bank. You bring the idea, we'll do the heavy lifting :)
Fundraise: From bake sales to races to online fundraisers, there are a ton of ways we can help you make your Move For Hunger fundraiser a success. Just give us a call to get started!
Get Social: We always need more friends and followers on Facebook & Twitter. Join our social media team to help get the word out about our hunger relief efforts in your community!

Tis The Season To Be Thankful

It's been a very busy holiday season here at Move For Hunger. Being that our office is located on the Jersey Shore, we were greatly affected by hurricane Sandy which hit around November 1st. We are so proud to report that our moving partners from all over the country helped deliver food and supplies to the damaged areas in New Jersey and New York. Because of generous donors and supporters, we also were able to raise thousands of dollars that went directly to helping support hurricane victims and food banks who needed extra support because of the storm.

As 2012 comes to an end, we are SO excited to announce we've hit the million pound mark! To date we have delivered 1,083,000 pounds of food to food banks all over the United States and Canada. Our Real Estate program is gaining momentum and we are now working with over 1,500 Real Estate professionals throughout the country and since September we have had 60 events collectoing over 340,000 pounds of food.

Overall we have had a wonderful year and can't wait to kickstart 2013 with more partners and more pounds of food! Help us kick off the New Year!!! Here's how:

We've Delivered Over 700,000 lbs of Food!!

Ballooning For Hunger

Can you believe it's September already? The year has flown by so fast, yet there's so much more to do to ensure even more Americans go to bed with a good meal in their bellies. I'm pleased to announce that Move For Hunger just turned 3 years old a few weeks ago. In that time we have grown to work with over 350 moving companies and 180 real estate professionals in 44 states across the US. And it's official: we have now delivered over 700,000 lbs of food - which is enough to provide over 500,000 meals to those in need!

We had an incredibly busy summer of food drives. In fact, we held close to 40 food drives between May and August across the country. We're lined up to hold 15 for the month of September and hopefully another 15 for October. These food drives help us raise greater awareness about hunger while engaging different members of the community to take action! We've launched a Real Estate Program which is rapidly gaining steam. Realtors across the nation are joining our efforts and becoming a force in our hunger relief efforts.
