The monsoon rains that hit Pakistan in 2022 had devastating consequences for communities that were already impoverished and struggling on a daily basis. Complete villages were wiped out and their residents had nowhere to go. With no or very few belongings, these communities faced hunger and disease.
In the aftermath, SHINE Humanity, with the help its donors was able to set up 304 medical camps in the flood hit areas of Sindh and treat 38,104 patients. We were also able to provide 429,000 hot meals in these flood hit communities.
Within a short period of time SHINE Humanity was also able to mobilize its Mobile Urgent Care Units which are equipped with all the tools needed to provide effective and immediate care to under-served communities.
The flood waters have long since subsided but SHINE Humanity continues to provide much needed healthcare services with our Mobile Urgent Care units These clinics housed in 20 foot long containers have a dedicated medical staff consisting of doctors and nurses, medicines and medical equipment on board, and can move from one area to another, providing services along the way.
SHINE Humanity is grateful to their donors whose generosity makes our mission possible.
