Home for 50 Elderly People in Argentina

As The Beatles said, nothing we make would be possible without our network of friends: donors, employees, and volunteers. Volunteers are a fundamental part of our projects! They collaborate by coming to our activities, doing different jobs or just being always available to improve the quality of life of the people. We are very grateful to them as we are to you!

Last week, the adults who live in Hogar San José received the visit of volunteers who helped us to put the garden of the house in order. They pruned the grass, planted flowers and shared a beautiful moment painting and restoring the spaces that older adults normally enjoy on sunny days. We spent a beautiful day together, which ended up sharing a snack, singing songs and playing games.

It is very important to visit the projects and spend time with the ones who need us the most. This is the main value of our NGO and we are very proud of it! Thank you so much for helping us providing funds to make possible this kind of activities and visits.

At Hogar San José we celebrated Christmas in a very special way. Together with all those who work in this project we organized two special activities so that the residents and their families can enjoy these festive days.

On December 23rd at Noon we received a professional Chef who visited us for different lunch. This surprise guest offered to prepare exotic meals and different from the ones we usually eat every day.  

Many of the older adults had never been at a restaurant that would prepare meals like this! It was fun and surprising for all of us to try new kinds of food this way.  

The second party was on Christmas Eve! As every year, we celebrated this day with all the families of the Home. We started early in the afternoon with a religious celebration for the older adults... It was beautiful for them to feed the spirit! Then, the night came and families joined. We all together had dinner and waited for midnight to arrive... Finally, with a big toast and lot of hugs we received Christmas!

The most special thing about Christmas was that we also received homeless elderly people that had no place to spend the night. We opened the doors of our Home and our hearts to welcome them.

These were two days of great joy where the main thing was to continue building a friendly environment that allows our residents to forget for a moment the difficults of life and feel happy for being supported, respected and taken into account in our home.
