Children deserve proper meals

According to the Asian Development Bank, Pakistan is one of the countries where poverty remains high. About 29.5% of the population lives below the national poverty line.

For every 1000 babies born, 66 of them die before their first birthday. A major reason behind these deaths is due to malnutrition faced by both the children and their mothers.

Coming from impoverished backgrounds, a proper meal on the table is sometimes just not possible. Along with basic education, these children also require proper food to remain healthy.

Most of these children never even thought of having such meals in their lives but with your generous support, we made it possible and we want to continue serving the underprivileged.

Our community program continues to provide education to the underprivileged and the number of students is increasing. Providing food to everyone sometimes gets difficult since we strive hard to ensure that every child gets proper meal. In order to ensure that there is a continuous supply of food for these children, we require your generous support. The ever increasing number of children who do not even get to eat at all is disturbing and we have taken this initiative to provide them with food.

Keeping in view the above facts, we request your support and ask you to donate generously so that these children can remain healthy and become a helping hand for others.

Providing Proper Meals

Behind the dismal numbers lie heartbreaking stories of lives ruined and cut short due to the unavailability of affordable and quality healthcare. An unhealthy population with severely diminished capabilities cannot substantially contribute to the economy. Health indicators suggest that it is the lack of accessible healthcare — not terrorism, drones or the energy crisis — that is the greatest adversity facing Pakistan.

The fact that Pakistan is a developing economy with resource limitations is not an excuse when we look to other low-income countries that have made great strides in healthcare in the last few decades. The experiences of these countries provide illuminating lessons that should be applied in Pakistan.

Our underprivileged children require basic food requirements in order to remain healthy. We at NUR Community Outreach Program which was launched in 1995 have had more than 20 batches graduating and currently more than 2,000 children are studying in those schools. Coming from impoverished backgrounds a proper meal on the table is sometimes just not possible. Along with basic education, these children also require proper food to remain healthy.

Most of these children never even thought of having such meals in their lives but with your generous support, we made it possible and we want to continue serving the underprivileged.

As the number of children at these schools is increasing, the requirement for food has also gone up. With your continuous support, we have been feeding these underprivileged by providing them with quality food in order to ensure that along with education, their nutrition is also taken care of.
