We are so grateful to our loyal supporters who make it possible for us to educate and empower deserving girls in Peru. We are excited to celebrate another recent success story in our program. We are extremely proud to announce that another of our Peruvian Hearts scholars has graduated from university and recently received her title as an officially recognized chemical engineer.
Rosa has been living and working in Lima for almost two years. As a PH scholar, she attended university at UNSAAC in Cusco and went on to Lima to complete her required internship working as a chemical engineer. Following her internship, she was offered a position as a chemical engineer at Alfred Knight, a well-recognized international laboratory, whose primary work is with the analysis and evaluation of metals and minerals. Rosa is the first of her family to graduate from university and with her leadership, initiative, drive, responsibility, and perseverance, she will soon break the cycle of poverty for her entire family as she paves a path toward a brighter future.
This summer, we were fortunate to welcome three motivated interns from the University of Virginia. These three bright women have been in Cusco for eight weeks, working closely with our scholars and supporting PH with their gifts and talents in a variety of significant ways.
Caroline has created short video clips that show the impact Peruvian Hearts’ emphasis on positive empowerment is having. She has focused on various aspects of our comprehensive program making videos of some of our scholars as they attend school, work with our Psychologist, and our Academic Advisor. We are so grateful for these beautiful, short videos that will give our family of donors a window into the work our girls are doing “on the ground” in Peru. Annelise has been working on the creation of publicity and marketing materials for Peruvian Hearts. These materials will be very beneficial in helping us spread the word about the work we are engaged in and the efforts the girls are making every day as they work hard to change their lives and their futures. Priyashma, who is studying medicine at UVA, has been creating workshops for our scholars on health related subjects. We are so grateful to her for putting such informative and critically important information together into workshops that are both engaging and extremely beneficial.
Thank you again to these three young women who have come to Peru for part of their summer vacations and are making the lives of our scholars richer and better through their presence in Cusco.
