Dear Project Supporters,

Your ongoing support has helped multiple vocational trainees. Your generosity is truly making a lifelong impact on these individuals and their families.

Below is the story of Kadijatu, a current tailoring trainee, as told in her own words. Your support is helping to cover the costs of tailoring school - so Kadiatu and many others can be empowered by skills that will help them become self-sufficient.

My name is Kadiatu, I was going to school when I got pregnant at the age of 19 which caused me to drop out of school.

Because of my condition at that time my parents abandoned me and also my boyfriend who got me pregnant ran away too. I felt like an outcast both in my family and in my community as I was in the street all alone no place to stay, only to be rescued by one of my friends as she was the only person that courage and allowed me to stay with her till I delivered my baby.

Out of my stupidity and lack of experience, I got pregnant again for the second time for another man who also disappeared and abandoned me up on hearing the news that he and I were pregnant.  I am presently a mother of two kids.

After giving birth for the second time and having gone through this horrible experience, I then realized I had a far greater purpose in life I then decided to join a Tailoring school. At this school, I am gaining skills in tailoring for self-empowerment. Since then I have learned so many skills in tailoring that will help me in the future to be self-reliant.

We hope you were touched by reading her heart-warming story. Stories like this remind us that we can together help change lives.

Thank you for making a difference for Kadijatu and other young tailoring students and their families.  We welcome your continued support!

With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team
