Bangladesh is a developing country with its vast population but this population can be a resource by proper utilization. Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is working for the forest dependent people of southwestern coastal region of Bangladesh where most of the people are living below the poverty line. To change this status BEDS took an initiative how to change the socio-economic condition.
BEDS formed Sundarbans Resource Harvestors Cooperative Society with the local community so that they can earn by their own initiatives. Cooperative members are practicing cow rearing and its cow manure is using as organic fertilizer and using in vegetable garden, fruits tress which give them more fruitful result.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
