This period we had volunteers from Chiang Mai came to provide English activities for all the students. The volunteers were Ellie, Ashton and Deana. They organized an English camp for the children, taught sewing and also played English games with the students for 5 days. After that they plan to paint.
Teachers and students went on a field trip to the Mae Sai Ten Ethnic Fair at the Tea Oil Plant Research Center. Students studied the history and characteristics of each tribe, such as how they dressed, food they ate, the architecture of housing, and cultural performance. Students learned things through various media and kiosks such as food, clothing, vegetables, toys, etc. Students got to taste different ethnic food.
This trimester parents and students met to clarify the teaching and learning methods at the half day school. After the meeting, parents and students had a better understanding of the teaching and learning systems.
To all our past, present, and future donors we would like to thank you for your continued support in keeping this program running. Education is at the core of DEPDC’s mission to prevent the trafficking of vulnerable youth and thanks to your donations we are able to do just that.
