The government has decided to close the nursery schools at the end of May.
On the negative side, it is almost one month less of learning for the children. Also children will stop to get an additional meal per day.
On the positive side, since at time of rainy season parents move to their fields with their children, it avoids difficulty to keep children in school.
This year prices of goods have increased a lot. Edible oil more than 30%, cereals almost 100%. This creates problems for the families. Even so they are farmers and produce part of their food, many families have difficulties to have one meal a day. This situation will stay until next harvest which will not start before September for some of the cultures.
Balancing the budget of the schools is not easy with those price increases.
We really hope for a good rainy season to make sure families can at least feed themselves.
We are very thankful for your support and really hope that we can still count on it for the next school year starting October 1st.
