Greetings and appreciation

By Mastora Bakhiet | Project Leader

Hello our friends,

Greetings,

On behalf of Darfur Women Network, DWN, we wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy new year. As this year and our fundraising campaign come to an end, we hope you have been able to take time to reflect on the previous year's challenges and the progress that we've made together.

Despite the unprecedented challenges faced this year, we are grateful that we have worked collectively, stayed strong, and remained hopeful. Thank you for your continued support and for being by our side all these years. Your commitment to our organization and its cause has showed the people of Darfur that they are not alone.

As I look back on this year, I know we have much to celebrate. We celebrate our partnership with GlobalGiving and our connection with our wonderful supporters like you. Throughout this relationship, we have received your generous donations, which enabled us to accomplish our goals despite the instable security and political situations.

Over the past year, we registered DWN in Sudan and opened an office and a women community center in South Darfur, where women make soap to earn an income to care for their families in displaced camps. We couldn’t have done any of this without your help.

Moreover, DWN has supported women and children whose lives have been negatively impacted by decades of conflict in Darfur by facilitating the Economic Empowerment incubator program for women from displaced and vulnerable families, which enabled families overcome poverty, adapt means of sustainable development, and empower women to improve their livelihood.

We have been helping the women through our soap making project which has made the Darfur women gain leadership skills and they have become empowered to impact their communities.

Darfur Women Network needs your support to provide necessary tools and resources to help our beneficiaries to secure a steady income to feed their children and to send them to schools.
