Laxmi has joined the Kamana women's group in Chitwan two years ago. She attended trainings to improve her skills as entrepreneur and to learn how to increase her output in vegetable farming. She works together with the other women of the group. She took part in off-seasonable vegetable farming training, capacity building training, and in workshops on Gender Based Violence. After completing the entrepreneurship training, she knew how to do and grow her business well. Laxmi has learnt to make a proper business plan through this training. She is actively involved in group activities and has a talent for marketing too. The training of gender, violence and women's rights has made a big difference for her. Now she came to realize that men and women are biologically different but it is the society that constructs the social and economic status differently. Including all the different entitlements and rules and the oppression of women which comes along with this.
Now, Laxmi’s situation has changed a lot and she is much more confident than before. Because of her own income from her improved vegetable production, she receives more respect and appreciation from her family and community. Laxmi is a hard-working woman. She plans to grow her business and to produce more all-seasonal vegetable to fulfill the ongoing demand of people in the neighborhood and the local market alike.
