Train 50 women teachers in Uganda to educate 1000s

Dear Teachers for Rural Future Supporters,

The generous donations to the Graduate Women International Teachers for Rural Futures projects are greatly appreciated. The contributions create opportunities for our young student teachers to gain an education and serve as GWI role models for girls in their hometowns. With the charitable contributions given, Benadet, one of our student teachers had the opportunity to attend a 7-day workshop at Makerere University. The workshop was funded by FAWEU in partnerships with Makerere University department of technical science vocational education and aimed to address how science subjects should be taught in rural schools with an emphasis on girls. At the workshop, Benadet learned multiple strategies to encourage female students to cultivate an interest in subjects such as chemistry, biology, math, and physics. In addition to giving our student teachers the ability to attend workshops, the kind contributions from our donors have provided our teachers with the necessities of education:

Donations of 10 dollars provided travel to university for one student teacher

Donations of 25 dollars provided books for one student teacher for six months

Donations of 50 dollars provided books for one student teacher for one year

Donations of 75 dollars provided tuition for one student teacher for one month

Donations of 150 dollars provided tuition for one student teacher for two months

Donations of 500 dollars provided accommodations for one student teacher for one year

Donations of 900 dollars trained one student teacher for one year

Donations of 2,700 dollars provided one student teacher full training for three years
