Donations Extend Beyond Student Tuition

By Stacy Dry Lara and Mila Metiver | GWI Executive Director and Intern (respectively)

Dear Teachers for Rural Futures Donors,

Graduate Women International (GWI) extends its appreciation for your generosity and continued commitment to the Teachers for Rural Futures program. Your contributions make a meaningful difference in the lives of young women from rural Uganda who are pursuing their dream of becoming qualified secondary school teachers and advocates for girls’ education in their communities.

We are pleased to share that the two students who joined the program this past fall have settled well into their studies and are progressing alongside their fellow scholars. Like the other students in the program, they have shown strong dedication to their coursework and are embracing the opportunity to pursue higher education and professional training. Their commitment reflects the determination shared by all Teachers for Rural Futures students to succeed academically and return to their communities as role models and educators.

Your generous donations also ensure that the students have the essential resources they need to thrive. Beyond tuition and accommodation, your support helps provide study materials, school supplies, and basic necessities, including feminine hygiene products. These items are vital in allowing the scholars to attend classes comfortably, maintain their well-being, and focus fully on their education.

Because of your partnership, these young women are able to pursue their studies with confidence and stability. Your generosity is giving them education, leadership, and opportunity.

GWI appreciates your ongoing support.

With sincere appreciation,

Stacy Dry Lara,

Executive Director, Graduate Women International
