Painted Stork is Endemic to India. A large stork with a long yellow bill that curves down at the tip, like that of an Ibis. The adult is primarily white with black striped markings on the wings and bright pink on tertials. They are found in the wetland of the plain of tropical Asia, South of the Himalayas in the Indian subcontinent. They were often seen near water bodies such as wetlands, marshes, and flooded agricultural fields. Breeds in crowded colonies, often with other waterbirds.
We have received Bob’ a painted stork in our facility with a severe left-wing injury due to a sharp kite string. It was the 3rd day of January month, almost 12 days before the kite flying festival though poor Bob was injured due to the kite threads.
Our clinical director checked the deep laceration and decided to perform a surgery. Let us see how bob is healing day by day under our supervision and care.
Right now, Bob is recovering rapidly in our Aviary. Hopefully, Bob will touch the sky again within a few days… we wish all the best to our feathered friend.
‘Jivdaya’ as a team, thank you for your kind heart. As a charitable Trust, we have been operating since 2007 and providing free treatment to all ailing animals & birds in Ahmedabad. We can only complete this colossal work successfully because of your love, support, and kindness. Thank you for always being amazing.
