Trauma Care Centre for Stray Animals and Birds

Winter is arriving in Ahmedabad and this is a difficult season for strays to survive. Every winter strays suffer from various viral infections. Without proper shelter, food, and care they often fall sick severely and succumb to death. Through our ‘Trauma Care Centre for Stray animals and birds’ project, we treat all these helpless strays who are suffering from either seasonal diseases or victims of other threats like a road accident, animal abuse, cruelty, zoonotic diseases, etc. We have received a total of 10367 animals and birds and around 80% were successfully saved

• Total Number of animals treated- 5892
• Total Number of Bird treated- 1391
• Total Number of Infant birds treated- 3084
• Total Number of ABC (Animal Birth Control) Surgery performed- 38
• Total Number of other Surgery performed- 56

The wet season is the time of year when most of a region & average annual rainfall occurs. In the wet season, air quality improves, freshwater quality improves, and even animals have adaptation and survival strategies for the wet season. Every year we experience our busiest time during the monsoon - the heavy rains make everyday tasks much more of a challenge, many of the animals we received are suffering from horrendous maggot wounds, fractures, severe skin conditions, allergies, viral fever, and flu, etc. It is more testing time than usual. It may be hard work, but thanks to our incredible team we continue to help as many stray animals as we can. 

Last month was one of the busiest months for us. Our team of veterinarians and vet assistants were occupied treating various cases performed a huge number of orthopaedics & soft tissue surgeries along with several ‘Animal Birth Control’ surgeries. All our efforts to save these souls paid off because of your help and support.
