Dehydration can pose a definite risk to the birds. There could be various reasons for dehydration, but the most common causes are aspergillus, Chlamydia, liver & renal diseases, and lead or zinc poison. A dehydrated bird will show the symptoms like lethargy, weakness, reduced skin elasticity, etc. Treatment and rehydration at the right time can save the bird’s life.
‘Barney’ an Indian black kite was rescued at night by a local when it almost lost its consciousness and was severely weak found under a tree. The local rescuer took barney straight to our hospital for treatment. Upon checking Barney, doctors found severe dehydration which caused Barney to faint. Our team started all the procedures to rehydrate Barney. After 5 days, Barney set free in the sky as he was completely recovered. Barney once again flew high with the other fellows in his natural habitat.
Friends, our city does not have any natural water sources. This is extremely difficult for these wild birds to quench their thirst. This is our duty to keep food and water accessible for them as most of them are dependent on us completely. So please, come forward and join your hands to keep these avian lives safe.
Thank you for your support which help us saving precious lives like ‘Barney’. Your kindness is our treasure. So, keep spreading love and keep saving lives with us.
