You made it possible for two fishponds to be built and stocked at the school farm in Murera, Kenya. Fish from these two ponds will be dried and ground into powder to fortify breakfast porridge for 990+ school children at Nchiru Children's Village. Dried fish powder contains calcium, iron, zinc and Omega-3 fatty acids. This nutrient dense mug of morning porridge sets up the students for a successful day at school. Thank you!
Our school partner communities continue to struggle with rising food prices. The cost of staple foods like cooking oil, flour and rice have almost doubled since COVID and the war in Ukraine, coupled with an historic drought for the region. Our fish pond program, however, is thriving - thanks to you! We plan to add a total of five fishponds to this farm site. In other words, two down and three to go!
