We love you!

Dear Supporter,

Here at the GVI Charitable Trust, we support 27 projects all around the world.

We work on a number of issues including education, women's empowerment, disaster recovery and conservation. This year alone we have provided the necessary medical supplies for a sterilisation drive for the population of stray dogs and cats in the Seychelles; we have built an entire toilet block at St Louis School in India; provided rent and food support for a children's home in Nepal for 4 months; installed solar panels at a children's home in the Seychelles to help keep their energy bills down and provided funds to signpost an entire national park in Costa Rica. And it's only February!

Even though the year has started off so well, there is so much that we still need to achieve. This is where your support and donations come in!

We need you. And this is how you can help

You can pick any of our 27 projects to make a donation to. Just search for 'Global Vision International Charitable Trust' right here on Global Giving to find a project you'd like to support.

2. Consider setting up a recurring donation

Why not set up a monthly recurring donation? Every dollar makes a huge difference to us!

3. Host a fundraiser

Fundraisers are a great way to have fun, create awareness and raise money. It’s easy to get started, here’s how:

What a wonderful 2015 its been!

High five for 2015!

Dear Supporter,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your amazing and generous support to all of our projects, all over the world in 2015. We have been able to achieve so much thanks to your donations.

As the year draws to a close, I thought it would be a good opportunity to share with you some of our highlights.

In Thailand, we were so excited to have a baby elephant born in the forest. We welcomed Baby Wan Mai in February and have loved watching him grow this year. Your donations mean that he never has to worry about being trained to be a source of entertainment, he can live his whole life free and happy in the forest with his mother and grandmother.

In India, we have been able to construct 14 houses and 1 community playground in Santhom Slum. And we are very excited to announce that in 2016 we are going to be constructing a new toilet block for one of our school partners. We can't wait to see the changes that this will bring to student's lives!

Things were so hard in Nepal this year with the two devastating earthquakes in April and May. With your donations, we have been able to provide hundreds of emergency relief kits, replace children's school books and supplies and provide materials for tempory shelter. In 2016 we are going to be undertaking some major construction work- we can't wait to share news of this with you.

In Costa Rica we recently completed a massive project at Roncador School. We built and kitted a new cafeteria, fixed up rooms and play areas and did a huge general clean.

At our community project in Cape Town, South Africa we have laid a new floor in the creche where we work, converted an old store shed into a bedroom at the special needs centre and repaired leaking roofs.

The list goes on!

News from quarter 3, 2015

Nepal earthquake relief is ongoing

Dear Supporter,

Things have been very busy over here at the GVI-CT and we have had some great successes that I would like to share with you.

We are still overwhelemed by the support that everyone has shown Nepal after the devistating earquakes that hit there earlier this year. Relief effort is ongoing and there are still thousands of people whoare in need of our help. The monsoon season has been particularly tough this year due to the destruction of the earthquake. Mud slides have been numerous, road have been blocked and bridges have become un-usuable. As a result most of the reconstruction efforts have been put on hold. Once we get the all clear, we will contine the work on a community centre. Read more about the earthquake here.

In Mexico we are so impressed by our two teams who both participated in charity challenges to raise money for the special needs centre that we work at. The money that they raised has allowed us to pay for the dog therapy to continue at the centre for another 6 months. The children love interacting with the dogs and it is amazing witnessing the healing interaction between the dogs and the children. Read about our childcare project here.

Our team over in Fiji has been celebrating the success and determination of Owen Doel, who recently completed a walk around Wales to raise money to build a skills training centre in the remote district of Dawasamu. The walk was an epic 1027 miles and took Owen just over a month to compelete. He managed to raise £7000 ($10 500) and we need to raise another £3000 ($4500) in order for the project can be completed. In Cape Town we are very happy to see that our team in HQ has been raising money to support the GVI-CT. They will be taking part in the grueling Impi Challenge next weekend. It is a 11km obstacle course that will test their fear of heights, murky waters, mud and confined spaces. We wish them luck in their endevour!

So, as you can see, there has been a lot going on all around the world.
