Dear Supporter,
Now we are into the second half of 2014, it's a great time to reflect on how 2014 has been going so far!
We are delighted to share that this has been a successful period, raising in seven months over what we did the whole of the previous year. This increase in funding has brought a corresponding increase in the impact we have been able to create on our programs around the world.
We've seen the expansion of our National Scholarship Program take off in Australia with a partnership with Federation of Young Australians and local councils. We've started several new projects including supporting a feeding project in Zimbabwe and a Global Initiative towards universal primary education and have successfully funded several different features on our projects for the full 2014 including a new male elephant in Thailand, an entire years rent in Nepal and numerous feeding programs. This is all on top of being able to run our usual activites.
Thank you all for your fundraising efforts and donations and we look forward to reporting continued success in the coming months. For more information, please see our website http://www.gvi.org

Cape Town team challenge
Dear Supporter,
Now we are almost into the third month of 2014, it has been good to evaluate how 2013 was for the Trust and where we can move forward in 2014.
2013 was a difficult year for charities around the world but we still achieved some fantastic goals. Our projects in Chiang Mai (Thailand), Fiji, Quepos (Costa Rica), Nepal, Seychelles and Limpopo (South Africa) had their most successful years thus far for fundraising and donor support. We also ran numerous in-field fundraising challenges which were highly successful; our team in Cape Town hiked the 3-day Hoerkwaggo Trail from Cape Point to Table Mountain and raised over $15,000! The team in Mombasa organised a swimathon with the students we work with in the slums to swim the height of Kilimanjaro and raised almost $9000 for school textbooks!
For 2014, we are going to push these challenges forward as well as focusing on achieving more impact on the ground. Our new animal welfare projects from 2013 are moving forward successfully and once more funds are in, we can start getting vets into the communities we work in. We will also be looking to complete more Carbon Mitigation projects where we work; solar panelling for children's homes, recycling and waste disposal for communities as well as water tanks for areas in desperate need.
Thank you for continuing to support the GVI Charitable Trust, we could not have come this far without you.
All the best
