Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

The Kole District is one of the districts in Uganda that has started to collect data for its the 5 years strategic development plan, by organizing the relevant individuals and institutions within their area of jurisdiction to help them track the priority areas that they can capture in their plan with the hope of staying in pursuit of their short-term and long-term development goals.

With support from TAACC (the Apac Anti-Corruption Coalition), a civil society organization working in Kole District; focusing in Citizens engagement for improved service delivery; as well as engaging duty bearers for effective service delivery; the organization (TAACC) invited more than 30 representatives from different nonprofit organizations including Kole Intellectual Forum to interact with district officials; and they were helpful to them to help them track the priority areas most needed by the community they work for, that can be included into their Kole district strategic development plan. 

In the process, after group discussion, presentation and interpretation, Kole Intellectual Forum was noted as not only that organization who had an issue to discuss during budget conference; but, an organization that had already prepared its budget proposal that the district is ready to incorporate to its strategic plan beginning from year 2021/2. In an attempt to have the status of the organization updated to have an inform Decision-Making, solve the problems the organization is encountering, build a strong team work, share ideas; and be innovative in moving the organization; the staff of Kole Intellectual Forum, have agreed to ensure that: they a hold a periodically staff meetings monthly at their Head Quarters at Te-Okole Village, Ogwangacuma Parish, Aboke Sub-County, Kole District Northern Uganda starting from the month of November 2020 when they opened up an organizational Institute of Home Economics. 

The second meeting since the establishment of the Institute was opened on the 30/9/2020 was held on the 4/12/2020; and a number of the past activities and assignments given to the staff in the first meeting were reviewed during in the present of the project leader; and some of the staff were again assigned to ensure they work in collaboration to the project leader to raise fund to meet the mission of the organization on the platform of GlobalGiving during this year end 2020 crowd funding platform.

The staff promised to be vigilant and work towards achieving the organizational goal since there is an element transparency and trustworthiness in the organization.
