Focus on Leadership

By Elizabeth Appleyard | Program Administrator

AIL provides training in  human rights, women’s rights, leadership, peace, democracy, good citizenship and other capacity building topics.

Teachers learn leadership skills in the methodology seminars and when they attend workshops on other topics. So far in 2021, 122 teachers have attended teacher training.  Leadership topics include a good leader, management, listening skills, self- confidence, and public speaking, building good relationships, politics, democracy and peace.  In the centers, leadership concepts are taught by teachers who have taken the AIL leadership workshops.

Part of a good teacher’s skill base is that of a good leader, being able to motivate students, to lead by example and be a good role model for youth to look up to. Teachers are integral in the quality of education that students receive. AIL ensures that teachers are well equipped to lead their students and motivate them through their student-centered, interactive teaching methods. With the current threats rising in Afghanistan, it is important to ensure the ability for teachers to gain consistent training but also continue to teach students in a safe environment.

Your support makes all the difference! Thank you.

Covid-19: AIL continues with its relief efforts providing food aid, PPE and running a Covid-19 hospital. All health clinics are operating and Learning Centers and schools are holding classes. Radio Meraj continues to broadcast the latest Covid-19 information.
