The sanitation situation at Mwanyagiri Primary School continues to put the health and wellbeing of more than 500 pupils at risk. Every day, approximately 20 pupils are reportedly falling sick, raising serious concerns among teachers, parents and community members about the unsafe sanitation conditions surrounding the school.
The existing pit latrine was constructed about 40 years ago and is now full, making it difficult for pupils to access safe and hygienic sanitation facilities. Poor sanitation increases the risk of diarrhoeal diseases, cholera and other infections that can affect children's ability to attend school and concentrate in class.
We believe that every child deserves to study in a safe and healthy environment. Building a new toilet will be an important step
